300+ Mazda Cars Come Together for Thrilling Fan Festa

Over 300 Mazda vehicles made it to the Clark International Speedway for the highly anticipated Mazda Fan Festa. The annual gathering of Mazda owners and enthusiasts was modeled after Japan’s Mazda Fan Festa, paying homage to Mazda’s motorsport heritage and uniting its passionate fanbase.

Mazda Philippines Unveils Collection at Mazda Fan Festa 2024

Mazda Philippines unveiled its latest collection of AutoExe tuning parts and accessories, marking its debut as an official distributor. On display at the venue were its CX-60, Mazda3, and MX-5 models, all fitted with AutoExe enhancements, adding further excitement to Mazda owners who want the best out of their vehicles.

AutoExe is a popular Japanese tuner company dedicated to enhancing the performance, handling, and aesthetics of Mazda vehicles. Known for its precision-engineered parts, AutoExe offers a wide range of products, including suspension upgrades, exhaust systems, aerodynamic kits, and chassis reinforcements—all meticulously designed to align with Mazda’s signature driving dynamics. Unlike typical motorsport gatherings, Mazda Fan Festa offered owners a rare chance to drive their Mazdas on the 4.189-kilometer Clark track. Guided by professional instructors and marshals, many first-time participants experienced the thrill of motorsport firsthand. Anchoring the event were the final rounds of the Miata Cup and the Manila Sports Car Club (MSCC) Miata Spec Series.

The festivities commenced with a parade of iconic Mazda sports cars, featuring the first- and second-generation MX-5, special anniversary editions, the #55 MX-5 Endurance Race Car, and a drift-prepped four-rotor RX-7. Leading the procession was Steven Tan, President and CEO of Mazda Philippines, alongside Takahiro Kobayakawa, Mazda Corporation Motorsports Head, and other prominent figures including Shell Pilipinas executives Arvin Obmerga and Miguel Estrada, and racers Windy Imperial and Angie Mead King.

“Mazda aims to deepen the bond between people and cars, and events like the Mazda Fan Festa PH strengthen that connection,” said Steven Tan. “This is our biggest annual event, showcasing the camaraderie of the Mazda community. We’re grateful to our sponsors, dealer partners, and the dedicated Mazda fans who joined us.”

Highlighting the event’s motorsport spirit, Angie Mead King made demo laps in her flame-spitting RX-7, powered by a 10,000-rpm four-rotor 26B engine sourced from New Zealand’s Michael “Mad Mike” Whiddett.

Competitive action kicked off with Race 7 of the Miata Cup and MSCC Miata Spec Series. In Class A of the Miata Cup, Walter Pineda took first place, followed by Jaime Fanlo. Class B saw Enzo Villareal triumph over Bryle Reyes and Sandy Sandoval. In Class C, Nerwin Ordillano led the pack, with Brian Donato and Keith Sundian rounding out the podium. In the ND Stock Class, Earl Guce secured victory, trailed by Lew Llanillo and Lauro Celestino.

The MSCC Miata Spec Series brought added drama with guest drivers Matt Solomon, an internationally acclaimed racer, and Takahiro Kobayakawa. In Race 7’s GT Radial Sportsman Class, Javier Toledo claimed victory, while Tyson Sy dominated the Shell Pro Class. Imperial emerged victorious in the BRM Masters Class. 

Race 8 in the afternoon delivered more thrills. Miata Cup Class A again saw Walter Pineda in top form, while Class B’s Enzo Villareal maintained his winning streak. In Class C, Nerwin Ordillano continued his dominance, and Lew Llanillo led the ND Stock Class. In the MSCC Miata Spec Series, Jeff Balao excelled in the GT Radial Sportsman Class, Tyson Sy repeated his Shell Pro Class win, and Windy Imperial completed his BRM Masters Class sweep.

The grand finale was the Mazda Sunset Parade, a spectacle that embodied the unbreakable spirit of Mazda enthusiasts. This symbolic drive capped off a day filled with shared passion for performance and camaraderie. The venue came alive with displays from event partners GT Radial, PartsPro, AAP, PIAA, Sonax, and Momo, creating a vibrant automotive atmosphere. Visitors also enjoyed a variety of refreshments from Shell Café, Ser Chef, Decimal Coffee, and Mendokoro Ramenba. 

Mazda’s extensive dealer network, including locations across Metro Manila and key cities in the Philippines, helped ensure that the community’s love for the brand continues to thrive.
