How Much the All-New Nissan Kicks e-Power Will Cost
We’ve known for quite some time that Nissan is going all-in on electrification. The brand launched the Leaf in the country in May 2021 and now, it’s premiering the all-new Kicks.
Nissan Kicks is the Japanese brand’s subcompact crossover SUV that is now presented as a hybrid. The nameplate has actually been around since at least 2016 but is being launched here in the country for the first time this month.
We’ll give you a more in-depth look at the Kicks soon as Esquire Philippines was one of the titles invited to test-drive the new unit recently to the Bicol region. For now, however, we’re announcing the price scheme for the model’s three variants.
After initially scheduling the announcement of the prices of the Nissan Kicks on August 12, country president Juan Manuel Hoyos decided to lift the embargo days ahead of its intended release:
Here’s the official price guide of the 2023 Nissan Kicks:
Nissan Kicks EL e-Power AT - P1.209 million
Nissan Kicks VE e-Power AT - P1.309 million
Nissan Kicks VL e-Power AT - P1.509 million
The new Kicks features e-Power technology, which essentially means it’s a hybrid of a traditional internal combustion engine and an electric motor. And just like a hybrid, both gas engine and electric motor work together to power the car.
Nissan says the new Kicks is capable of producing up to 134hp and 280 Nm of torque.
You’ll be glad to know also that all three variants of the Kicks will get the e-Pedal function, which we first saw and experienced in the Leaf. This means that the traditional accelerator pedal can also act as a brake when you lift your foot off. The function also helps charge the battery.
There are variant-specific specs that you should know about in case you’re already thinking of getting the Kicks. Only the VL and VE will get the eight-inch infotainment display equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as Nissan Intelligent Mobility features (around-view monitor, forward collision warning, emergency braking, and driver attention alert). Meanwhile, only the VL features automatic headlights, leather seats, six speakers, and front foglights.
