Today I Learned: Tesla is Coming to the Philippines, Hiring New Talents

Tesla, the American electric vehicle (EV) and clean energy giant, is expanding its operations in the Philippines. Job postings on Tesla's website suggest that the company, led by Elon Musk, is particularly considering Taguig as a key location.

The official job posting from the automotive company indicate that a total of 15 vacancies across various departments, including operations and business support, administrative and HR roles, finance, vehicle service, charging, as well as sales and customer support.

An online job ad reveals that Tesla's Recruitment Day in the Philippines is set for September 13 and 14 at the Garcia Villa Room, The Peninsula Manila in Makati. Pre-registration is required, and applicants must bring a physical copy of their CV.

On its website, Tesla proudly identifies itself as "an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer committed to diversity in the workplace."

Sources indicate that Tesla is entering the market directly, without any local partner.
The company, named after the renowned inventor and electrical engineer Nikola Tesla, was founded on July 1, 2003 by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning. Musk, JB Straubel, and Ian Wright joined shortly after its founding. Musk, who joined in 2004, became the largest shareholder and chairman, later becoming the CEO in 2008.

Tesla is widely recognized for its advanced battery technology and outstanding aerodynamics, which contribute to superior range and performance. This has often kept Tesla vehicles at the top of the list in terms of best-selling and most desirable EVs.
