This Weekend’s Toyota GR Cup Street Race is Special
Toyota Motor Philippines’ annual Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup, or simply the GR Cup, has established itself as the premier motor racing event in the country. The 2025 edition kicked off in March this year, with a thrilling race at the Clark Speedway in Pampanga. The second leg, however, promises to take things to a whole ‘nother level.
For the first time since 2018, the series returns to street racing—bringing tight corners, long straights, and unforgettable high-octane action in Villar City on May 24 and 25, 2025.

Street circuits demand razor-sharp precision: barriers line the track, leaving no room for error, while changing surfaces and elevations challenge both driver and machine. The unforgiving environment produces spectacular overtakes and photo-finish moments. This is the first street racing event to be held at Villar City in Bacoor, Cavite.

On Saturday (May 24), activities include Practice and Qualifying sessions followed by Sprint Race 1. The next day sees Sprint Races 2 and 3, which will decide championship points. There will also be Drag Races that pit raw horsepower against the clock. All the activities will be livestreamed on the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines Facebook and YouTube channels.
Outside of the races, there will be a festival atmosphere with different activities for fans of all ages, including Toyota Car Club and Gymkhana Exhibitions, test drives and vehicle displays featuring the latest Toyota and Lexus models, Sim-racing rigs for virtual racing action, and live performances from Rico Blanco and Parokya ni Edgar on Saturday, and Ely Buendia and Bamboo on Sunday.

“As soon as fans and drivers heard about the return of a street race near Metro Manila, excitement exploded,” says TMP Assistant Vice President for Marketing Services Andy Ty. “We want everyone to experience the rush of motorsports and maybe spark a lifelong passion for speed.”
