Chito Miranda Finally Hears the Lost Stanza and Original Melody of 'Harana'

Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda heard for the first time the original lyrics from the ’90s hit song “Harana,” and his reaction was that of surprise.
“Kinilabutan ako! Iyan ang hindi ko alam!” he said. (“I felt goosebumps! I never knew that!”)
Miranda was on the virtual talk show Pamilya Talk hosted by Jing Castañeda, where he appeared with Eric “Yappy” Yaptangco, who wrote the song, and Cholo Mallilin and Tony Lambino, who recorded it in the early ’90s ahead of Parokya.
On the show, Miranda apologized to the song’s originators because of what he thought were “mistakes” Parokya made to the song.
“Sorry, ‘yung version namin, napasa na namin kung ano ‘yung mistake na nagawa namin," Miranda told Yaptangco. “Iba na ‘yung chords namin, slightly different ‘yung melody from the original, and kulang kami ng isang stanza.”
“Nakakakilabot ‘yung last part. Bakit hindi sa amin umabot ‘yun? It completes the story, ‘yung dulo,” said Miranda.
(“I’m sorry, we realize the mistakes in our version. Our chords are different, our melody is slightly different from the original, and we’re missing one stanza. The last part gave me goosebumps. Why had it never reached us? It completes the song’s ending.”)
The Missing Stanza from ‘Harana’
The missing stanza that was meant to close the song apparently never made it to Parokya for some reason. Below are its lyrics.
