Thor: Love and Thunder's Taika Waititi Shuts Down Interview After Rita Ora Question
Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi abruptly ended an interview with This Morning's Phillip Schofield after he asked him a question about his relationship with singer Rita Ora.
While on This Morning today (June 13) with Marvel alum Chris Evans to promote their new film Lightyear, Schofield asked Waititi about his girlfriend Ora, with whom he is rumoured to be engaged.
Towards the end of the chat (about 10 minutes into the video above), Schofield said: "Well, we've congratulated Chris on his birthday... so Taika, are there wedding bells?"
To which the Thor star interjected by saying: "You can congratulate me! It's in August! Let's talk about my birthday!"
Then, he proceeded to pull out his earpiece and throw it aside, saying: "What? Sorry, you're breaking up! Nope, gone!"
Even as the interview seemed to go off the rails from there, Evans kept laughing, seemingly not knowing what else to do except awkwardly laugh it off. Then, the chat abruptly ended, with Schofield adding: "Regardless, she's gorgeous, we love her here, she's always a great guest and congratulations!"
However, fans did not seem to take kindly to Schofield's line of questioning, with one person commenting on Twitter: "It is pretty much understood, a guest's personal/romantic life is off-limits unless agreed upon interview is specifically surrounding that subject. Poor form on any day."
Besides Lightyear, Taika can be seen next in Marvel's Thor: Love and Thunder, which he is directing and starring in. Meanwhile, Evans can be seen in Netflix's The Gray Man opposite Ryan Gosling and Ana de Armas. Both of them arrive in cinemas in July.
