Alabang’s Southbank Cafe + Lounge Among Asia's 100 Best Bars 2024
Southbank Cafe + Lounge, a chic café and cocktail bar in Westgate Center, Alabang, Muntinlupa City, has proudly earned a spot on Asia's Best Bars list for 2024. The Melbourne-inspired drinking spot made an impressive debut on the prestigious awards list, securing the 82nd position. The announcement was made on July 10, ahead of the live awards ceremony to be held at Rosewood Hong Kong on July 16.
The lounge was lauded for delivering a top-notch experience in wine, coffee, cuisine, and cocktails, and its approach to its drink offerings, which is "decidedly modern, making use of the latest techniques and ingredients, which are described in an accessible way via a beautifully illustrated menu."

The annual ranking, which honors the finest bars across Asia, specifically highlighted the Strawyo Haze, which features "a strawberry distillate joined by both citric and malic acids, topped with tonic water and garnished with a flower and lemon peel."
Patrons can try a custom-made cocktail crafted with fresh in-house ingredients, or enjoy timeless classics.
The bar features a blend of industrial, botanical, and mid-century modern elements.
The bar and cafe offers a diverse food menu, ranging from all-day breakfast options to a variety of main dishes inspired by global flavors. Excitingly, this award-winning bar now also has a branch at Estancia in Capitol Commons.
The place was named Southbank, as one of the owners Patrick Leyble, Jr., used to live and work had the same name in Melbourne. "It was an area full of small homegrown cafés and we wanted to bring that vibe here,” Leyble shared in an interview with heyjow.com.
The café's interior, designed by Kitty Bunag from the creative team at Craftsmith Guild, features a blend of industrial, botanical, and mid-century modern elements.
