This All-You-Can-Eat BBQ Buffet at a Five-Star Hotel Is Only P1,500

*UPDATED with new information for hotel guests*

After quarantine restrictions have been eased somewhat, many of us are probably itching to go somewhere and do something outside the house. It’s going to take a while before things revert to normal, but it’s good to know there are places that are already offering a semblance of normalcy.

Consider this barbecue buffet at Okada Manila. Traditional buffets have slowly reopened at some of the city’s best and most luxurious hotels, but Okada takes it a step further by offering it outdoors, with fantastic views of Manila Bay and the surrounding landscapes of Entertainment City.

Held at Okada’s The Garden, an outdoor space with greenery under the shadow of the integrated resort hotel’s distinctive architecture, Barbecue by the Bay offers a selection of grilled meats, fish and vegetables, plated salads, and individual appetizers, which customers can order via menus that they just need to mark with a pencil. Orders are all brought to customers’ tables by waitstaff decked out in masks and face shields. The buffet comes with a serving of a non-alcoholic drink (iced tea, juice, soda).

Best of all, as a buffet, one can order anything on the menu as many times as one desires (or until the tummy is sufficiently filled. Total cost: just P1,500, which is quite reasonable when you compare it with other five-star hotels in the city.

The buffet returns just as the hotel has reopened for staycations, with the following reminders:

  • Antigen testing is no longer a requirement for staycationers age 18 to 65
  • Those below 18 and above 65 years of age are required to present a negative RT-PCR test result taken not more than 72 hours prior to check-in.
  • Guests with comorbidities and who are pregnant will not be accommodated.

Early this year, the hotel was also cited for its safety and sanitation protocols by global digital healthcare leader Sharecare and Forbes Travel Guide. Okada Manila also received the World Travel and Tourism Council’s [WTTC] Safe Travels Stamp.
