The Restaurant With the Best View in the Philippines Has Been Named

For most diners, food always comes first when choosing a restaurant. For others, however, where you are while you’re eating contributes just as much to the entire dining experience. Restaurants with a view often become destinations unto themselves, with people traveling hundreds or even thousands of kilometers not just to sample the cuisine but to take in their unique and unbeatable landscapes. 

But which restaurant in the country, and the world, has the best view? It’s not a foolproof scientific method, but a study from Hawaiianislands.com has determined the answer using reviews from Tripadvisor from users who frequently note the restaurants all over the world offering the best views.

The study focused on the phrase “beautiful view” that was mentioned on TripAdvisor restaurant reviews to come up with a list of restaurants in 126 countries and every U.S. state that featured that phrase in their respective reviews. The restaurants with the highest number of mentions of the phrase made it to the list. 

In the Philippines, taking the top spot is The Nesting Table in El Nido, Palawan. Located on Maremegmeg beach in Barangay Corong-Corong, the restaurant served local favorites like laing and chicken caldereta, as well as international fare like pesto pasta, vegetable curry, and a vegan burger.

But people really went there for the view. The restaurant offered stunning vistas of the bay with giant limestone cliffs towering in the distance. No wonder it was ranked number one on Tripadvisor’s list of restaurants in El Nido with a perfect 5.0 rating.

But in case you’re about to pack your bags and book a trip to El Nido, you should know that the restaurant has been closed for some time now. According to its Instagram page, the restaurant closed down in mid-2021.
