Who is Che Uy and where does her fortune come from?
Che Uy was born Cherylyn Chiong Uy. She graduated from Ateneo de Davao University with a bachelor of science degree in business and finance, and has a career history as a treasurer for the Udenna Corporation and Dito CME Holdings Corporation, as well as several other ventures.
According to her Bloomberg page, Uy is a board member of Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, PH Resorts Group Holdings Inc., Chelsea Logistics and Infrastructure Holdings Corp., and Dito Cme Holdings Corp.
Together with husband Dennis Uy, she has three children: Chelsea Denise, Charlize Donatela, and Charles Dennison.
Uy is the president of the Udenna Foundation.
In addition to being a power woman in a male-dominated industry, Uy focuses on supporting children in need in her work with the Udenna Foundation. The foundation has helped charities in Davao such as Balay Pasilungan, Living Stones Orphanage, and Tuloy Foundation. She's also a member of the Phoenix Philippines Foundation.
Her daughter, Chelsea, has followed in her footsteps by founding a nonprofit organization called Lacuna. The organization aims to "close the gap of social inequity in the Philippines, while tackling the most prevalent issues of today's society."

Dressed in a Carolina Herrera button-down and pink skirt, Uy appeared on the cover of Lifestyle Asia's March 2019 edition. The feature explored the mind of the socialite who is "well-known in both the business community and Davao society."
The cover story also gave us a peek at the couple's stately home, which is adorned with De Gournay wallpaper, statement artworks, and many other exquisite pieces. De Gournay, a British luxury interiors company, is known for its hand-painted wallpaper that costs up to P30,000 to P100,000 per panel.

The internet picked up an alleged screenshot of an Instagram story from Che Uy's account back in March 2020. In the photo, multiple grocery carts filled to the brim were shown along with a caption that said, "Very good my yayas and chef! Need to stock up!" The screenshot was shared on Twitter, Viber, and reported by the Philippine Star as it went viral.
The socialite didn't issue a statement on the veracity of the photo, and instead kept a low profile throughout the quarantine.
