Meet Champ and Major Biden, America's First Dogs
The results are in and Joe Biden is on his way to be the 46th president of the United States of America. We’ve written about his vice president, Kamala Harris, who is the first woman, first Black, and first Asian VP in American history. We’ve written about his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, who he credits as the rock of his family (and always makes a point to introduce himself as Jill’s husband first and VP/president second).
Now, the second most important family members are getting the spotlight: his family pups. One word: DOTUS.

Meet Champ and Major Biden, America’s First Dogs. First Dogs are finally making their way back to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. The last pups to hold the esteemed position were Barack Obama’s Portuguese water dogs Bo and Sunny after Trump made it known that he didn't like dogs. (Well, they didn't like him either).
Champ (black and tan) joined the Bidens around the same time Bo joined the Obamas in 2008 during Obama and Biden’s first year at the White House. Fun fact: Champ was a Christmas gift from Joe to Jill.
Major (black) was welcomed into the family 10 years later in 2018 when he was fostered and later adopted by the Bidens from the Delaware Human Society. He’ll be the first rescue dog to live in the White House.
Joe and Jill have made their grandpa/grandma vibes apparent on Instagram with their endless dog content, not that we’re complaining. Check out all these wholesome pics of the incoming DOTUS.

The Bidens’ beloved pups will now be tasked with the enormous responsibility to keeping pesky paparazzi off the White House lawn.
No word yet if they bite. If they do, the Trump transition team might be in trouble.
