Facebook Messenger Now Allows You to Send Replies to a Specific Message

Fresh from rolling out its "unsend" and "dark mode" features, Facebook Messenger continues to innovate its app with yet another handy update. With its newest reply feature (much like WhatsApp's), you can now reply to a specific message on your chat without the conversation getting confusing. It's especially convenient for groups with exceptionally chatty members. It also means you won't have to go through the hassle of mentioning a specific username if you want to reply to his/her message in particular, or painstakingly backread through a long chat thread in case a certain topic has already been buried deep.
To make use of Messenger's reply feature, make sure your app's up to date with the latest version. Go to your chat group and simply press down on a specific message that you want to reply to. Your usual emoji icons will pop up, but beside it is an additional arrow icon. Pressing this will allow you to reply to that message, thus starting its own thread. Alternatively, you can also opt to just swipe right on the message and it will automatically let you reply to it.
Facebook's newest reply feature isn't just limited to FB Messenger's mobile app. You may also use the feature via desktop. Beside a certain message's react button is an ellipsis that says "more." Clicking on this will show you the "remove" and "reply" options. All you have to do is click on reply, and your friends will know more clearly which particular message you're responding to!
