The Leica Q2 is for Pro Photographers and Trigger-Happy Shooters Alike
German camera maker Leica Camera AG has always been associated with quality and luxury, and its latest model of the Leica Q series again proves exactly that.
The Leica Q2 is the next-generation model of the German luxury brand's Q line of compact cameras and was officially launched in the Philippines at the new Leica Boutique located in Bonifacio High Street Central in Taguig.
Though more known as a professional camera brand, amateur shooters can still enjoy the Leica Q2 because it does away with the unnecessary features. It offers just what you need and where you need it, without having to go too much into the technicalities.
Like the Leica Q1, which came out in June 2015, the Q2 is equipped with a fast prime lens that has a full-frame sensor. This eliminates the need to choose between several lenses and adjust the specifications accordingly. It also comes in the signature compact retro look, making it easy to carry wherever you go.
But that doesn’t mean that the Leica Q2 is not suitable for professional use anymore. The 47.3-megapixel full-frame sensor is newly developed to support the upgraded Leica Summilux 28 mm f/1.7 ASPH prime lens and innovative OLED EVF viewfinder technology.
The Leica Q2’s integrated digital zoom can reach a focal length of up to 75 mm. Jojo Gloria, Leica Store Philippines product specialist, said during the launch that the compact camera has the “fastest autofocus of its class” at less than 0.15 seconds.
The Leica Q2 can capture 10 frames per second in full resolution of 47.3 MP during sequential shooting. For videos, the camera can record full HD mode with 24, 30, 60 or 120 frames per second, at 3840x2160 pixels.
The new Q2 model likewise has an integrated WiFi module and can be easily linked to the Leica FOTOS App, which means your social media content can instantly be updated—whenever and wherever you are.
The Leica Q2 is available for pre-order at Leica Store Greenbelt 5 and Leica Boutique BHS Central.
