A Marvel Smartphone Now Exists. But Does It Have a Direct Line to Old Man Cap?

With last week’s double bill of Zack Snyder’s Justice League and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, the hype for all things superhero continues to soar in 2021. So that you can fully immerse yourself in these fictional worlds, there is now a Marvel smartphone care of Oppo. The Chinese mobile phone company struck an exclusive partnership with the media group to create the limited-edition device, which like a superhero flick teases us with a cliffhanger as its release and price are detailed as “…will be available in the country in the coming weeks.”

Easter Eggs in the Oppo Reno5 Marvel Edition
What we do have is intel on what the Marvel smartphone will look like. Brought to life on Oppo’s Reno5, the upcoming device features various details from the Marvel movie-verse, which you can look for and identify like Easter eggs. Can you spot all of them?
Easter Egg No. 1: The silver “A” on the back casing combines the iconic The Avengers logo with Captain America’s vibranium shield, while the “X” motif, upon which the A rests, recalls Black Widow’s logo.

Easter Egg No. 2: The main inspiration for the Oppo Marvel smartphone comes from the Quantum Suit or Advanced Tech Suit that appeared in Avengers: Endgame. If you remember, these suits were specially made to pull off the movie’s time heist sequence inside the Quantum Realm. On the phone, the high-tech uniform has been translated as the black, gray, silver, and red color scheme plus a textured feel. Other suit-like details include the silver on the phone’s sides (created through electroplating) and a black stripe (achieved through laser-etching).
The superhero experience continues when you power up the phone as The Avengers logo is used in the start-up animation, as well as when you juice up the device with the charging status depicted as the light rings on Iron Man’s HUD. Another cool Easter egg is the use of flip book-style animation (from the opening sequence of a Marvel movie) implemented when choosing the wallpaper. More details reference the MCU, including the superheroes appearing as icons and the original six Avengers decorating the protective phone case.

As for performance, the Reno5 Marvel Edition boasts 8GB of RAM, 128GB of ROM, a 6.4-inch 90Hz AMOLED screen, a 44MP selfie camera, and 64MP Quadcamera setup. That’s powerful stuff but what we want to know is this: Will this superhero phone give you a direct line to Old Man Cap, who, according to rumors, may be chilling on the moon?
