Netflix Party Lets You Watch Movies With Friends-Remotely

Because, you know, social distancing.

If you're used to being social and out and about, self-isolation will make you stir-crazy. Sure, you can chat with your friends, do video calls, and more but, sometimes, nothing does it quite like movie night.

With technology and all, it's definitely not impossible to set a movie night online. The only challenge is how to time the movie to play at the same time. Thankfully, there's a little hack that does just that.

Netflix Party is a Chrome extension for watching Netflix remotely. According to developers, it was made with long-distance daters in mind. But, it's definitely taken on a new role with the social distancing currently in place.

The extension essentially synchronizes video playback and adds a group chat to emulate a real movie night with friends or, you know, that special someone. Really, all you need is a Netflix subscription, Google Chrome, and—of course—friends.

There's also that problem of choosing which movie or show to watch on Netflix, but we've got you covered. Read our review of Kingdom's second season here or check out Netflix's best original shows and movies.
