According to a study by Canine Cottage, your pup’s heart rate jumps by an average of 46.72 percent when you tell them you love them. That’s right. A simple “I love you” is enough to get their heart pitter-pattering.

Canine Cottage attached doggy heart rate monitors (yes, they exist!) to pups participating in the experiment to find out what stimulated canine excitement.
While “I love you” makes their heart skip a beat, cuddling you beloved pup calms their heart rate by an average of 22.7 percent.
But this certainly isn’t a one-sided love. According to the study, human hearts are also affected by dogs, and how could they not? Human heart rates apparently increase by 10.4 percent when you catch a sight of your best friend.
