Amorita Is the Holiday Resort Your Mother Deserves This May

This Mother’s Day, treat your mom to a four-course menu at Amorita Resort’s new chophouse.

There’s a reason Amorita Resort is considered one of the best hotels on the island of Bohol. The amenities are top-tier, the ambiance is pristine, and the hospitality is emblematic of the warmth of Boholanos. While Bohol is once again packed with tourists, Amorita maintains its sense of peace and tranquility. It’s one of the few resorts that can live up to the title of “island getaway”—the wide open spaces, large rooms, and exclusive cliffside view of Alona Beach are just some of the reasons local and international tourists flock to Amorita.

And for the month of May, Amorita has only added more items to the list of why it’s about time you checked in. For Mother’s Day, Amorita Resort has prepared a number of treats for all the moms visiting the resort. The first is a taste of The Lost Cow, the island’s first chophouse.

Amorita’s chophouse, which only opened last year, is launching a luxurious four-course menu dedicated to mothers. It includes smoked tuna ceviche and beach and backyard salad as the first course, followed by an appetizing beef tenderloin and French onion consommé soup. The main course is a classic TLC Surf & Turf, ending with a smoked cheesecake with mixed berry compote. Our personal favorite was the consommé, a delicious soup that will have moms knocking on the chef’s door for the recipe. If nostalgia could be packaged in a soup, the beef tenderloin and French onion consomme soup would be it.

The exclusive menu will only be available until the end of the month, so if you’re visiting Amorita or Bohol this month, don’t miss out.

There’s plenty more to enjoy at Amorita. In between exploring the island and feasting on local cuisine, guests can try out the resort’s many free amenities, such as bike rentals, paddle boarding, kayaks, and snorkeling gear. There’s even an archery field where beginners can get trained by a coach, and a secret cove perfect for some peace and quiet. For the full wellness retreat experience, guests can also book a yoga session or get pampered at Sea Tree Spa.

But the best part of Amorita’s May celebrations might just be its Saturday Grill Buffet on May 13 when mothers get to dine for free. While the family will be charged P1,499 per person, mothers will get to enjoy free access to Saffron’s Mother’s Day feast. The buffet will feature dishes made by or inspired by mothers. Amorita’s team of chefs, led by Chef Tonette Boy Franco, has concocted a mouth-watering lineup of household dishes, like beef kansi and tortang kalabasa. But Chef Franco has also added something new to the mix through his star dish, the tuna dynamite, which will definitely have you returning to the buffet for seconds.

Part of the proceeds of the May 13 Mother’s Day buffet will go to the Sunshine Home Orphanage.

Chef Franco spent 11 years working at Dubai’s best hotels before returning to the Philippines. Amorita Resort marks the chef’s first time working in the Philippines, and when he first set foot in Amorita, it was love at first sight. Chef Franco only joined Amorita nine months ago, but in that time, he’s already set up a backyard farm at the resort to bring farm-to-table greens directly to Saffron and The Lost Cow. According to Chef Franco, 75 percent of the greens used in the Mother’s Day buffet will come directly from Amorita’s little backyard farm.

After all the food, moms deserve some downtime—ideally at Sea Tree Spa where they can be pampered to their heart’s content. This month, the spa will offer two special packages: Kalinga, which consists of three different relaxing treatments including massages and a facial, and Pahinga, which consists of a series of treatments like an aromatic massage, a facial, and a milk bath. Both massages will end with a light Afternoon Tea at Saffron curated by Chef Franco, designed to be enjoyed with tea and chismis.

The spa offerings are available from May 7 to 14.

On top of all that, you can get 30 percent off a room when you book the Island Getaway promotion. The promotion is valid until September 30, so if you do miss a Mother’s Day celebration at Amorita, you have more than enough time to make up for it.
