South Korea-based Aero K Launches Direct Flights from Manila to Cheongju

Cheongju, dubbed the “Cultural Capital of East Asia,” is known for its various landmarks and attractions that can surely satisfy a nature lover’s heart. Located in North Chungcheong province, the city is about an hour and a half drive away from Seoul.

But Filipinos need not worry about finding Cheongju on their own, as direct flights are available in the Philippines via the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3. Aero K Airline, a low-cost South Korea-based air carrier, launched the new route: Cheongju-Manila (and back).

Trips between Cheongju and Manila are available three times a week, according to the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA). Arrival time is set at 1:35 a.m. (Philippine Time) while departure is at 2:35 a.m.

In November last year, Aero K launched its first direct flight to Cheongju in the country from the Clark International Airport.

Cheongju, a place of recreation since the Joseon dynasty, is famous for the Sangdang Sanseong Fortress —  a centuries-old, mountainside complex with breathtaking views of the lake and the city. Among other must-visit spots in the city is the villa of former South Korean presidents called Cheongnamdae.
