Halloween Tour With a Spice of History
According to Canapi, the virtual Halloween tour of Intramuros will feature key sites that are paranormal hotspots.
“I toured many sites in Intramuros with a friend who is ‘sensitive,’ meaning to say he can see or feel things we cannot see,” Canapi told Esquire Philippines.
Based on the most active sites for these paranormal activities, Canapi sought the help of the Intramuros Administration to dig deeper into the histories of the sites and what occurred there. What he discovered was chilling.
Inside the Fort Santiago Dungeon

“There were tales of intrigue, of passion and jealousy, of violence, and death, especially during the Battle of Manila in World War II when a lot of atrocities happened.”
Intramuros, especially the ruins of Fort Santiago, are hallowed grounds and the site of thousands of deaths during World War II. Scores of anecdotes from residents tell haunting experiences of hearing screams coming from the dungeons in the middle of the night.
