Megaworld Corporation is all hands on deck to promote its hospitality business, Megaworld Hotels & Resorts (MHR), with a new partnership expected to further its reach in the international market. The company has signed an agreement with Singapore-based Trip.com Group to promote its services to more foreign visitors.

“We are the largest in the Philippines — very local,” said Mega Hotels & Resorts assistant head of distribution Pebbles Caramat. “We would like to be known globally, and the platform of Trip.com will be able to do that for us, given their reach, tools, and technology.”

The partnership makes Megaworld Hotels and Resorts a “preferred partner hotel,” earning increased visibility on Trip.com’s platforms. This means all the Tan-led hotels and resorts will now be included in most, if not all, of the travel service provider’s campaigns and engagements. MHR will also be able to tap Trip.com’s “extensive marketing machine,” which can feature its offerings to both China and the rest of the global market. Aside from these, the travel group can help with pricing and inventory management, "ensuring competitive rates and seamless booking experiences for travelers."

“The preferred partner program is a very unique program, specific [to] hotels [that] are able to offer competitive [products and] great service, as well as good offerings," Boon Sian Chai, managing director at Trip.com, said. "We will feature them, so that they will get additional traffic and visibility."

Under the partnership, Trip.com will also be promoting the Grand Westside Hotel—set to be the biggest property of MHR—through a pre-opening sale. The hotel is expected to open its doors to customers in Parañaque’s Entertainment City by June.
