Malls to Close Early Amid Curfew Order

Robinsons Malls, Ayala Malls, and SM Supermalls, and other malls will close early on March 15 in compliance with the curfew that will take effect in Metro Manila on the same date from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Robinsons Malls and Ayala Malls will close at 7 p.m. starting March 14.
SM Supermalls has also adjusted its malls’ operating hours. Starting March 15, SM Supermalls will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Commerce Center in Alabang has also announced early closing time.
Metro Manila Curfew
The Metro Manila Council or MMC, which is composed of all the mayors of the cities and municipality in Metro Manila, approved the curfew and ordered their respective councils to issue ordinances to implement the curfew order.
“Mayors of NCR, acting in unity with the National Government, in order to preserve and protect the lives and health of their constituents, do hereby declare and promulgate, acting as one body in the Metro Manila Council, STRONGLY RECOMMEND to all Local Legislative Councils of the NCR to issue ordinances for CURFEW from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. subject to their necessary guidelines as they deem necessary,” read the resolution.
MMDA Requested Closure of Malls
In a press conference held on March 14, MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said that they have requested malls to close until further notice.
"We also requested for the malls to be closed. The only ones that will remain open are supermarkets and other essentials like pharmacies and banks,” said Garcia.
