Shoe designers are inspired by a lot of things—nature, personalities, even pop culture. What you don’t hear often enough are shoes inspired by food.
Earlier this week, Anta debuted a striking collection of its Shock the Game SHOW4 line in four special colorways that takes inspiration from the cuisine of its homeland. One look and you know there’s something special about these shoes—they actually look good enough to eat.

“Seafood” appears in blue and pink and is reminiscent of the colors of the ocean and freshly caught bounties from the sea like crabs and lobsters. “Crayfish,” meanwhile, comes in Crustacean orange that will no doubt draw in appreciative stares. “Barbecue” combines lively colors of lime, orange, and yellow, while River Snail Rice Noodle comes in eye-catching purple and yellow.
But it’s not just all looks. The STG SHOW4 line features Anta’s NitroEdge technology in the midsole, which, Anta reps remind us, is also used in Klay Thompson’s signature sneaker, the KT7. The shoes are lightweight and provides superior cushioning and nonstop bounce. The upper consists of an elastic built in layer and a dynamic line combination design to help keep the foot locked down. The shoe also has a lateral TPU and carbon fiber 3D torsional slice in the midfoot for stability, while the Cement Killer rubber outsole provides superior traction and durable enough to withstand the outdoor game.
What better way to launch the STG SHOW4 line than by a casual lunch featuring Chinese favorites? Friends of the brand and select guests feasted on Oriental favorites like Crabmeat Corn Soup Chow Mein, Fried Seafood Noodles Rice, Yang Chow Friend Rice, Minced Duck, Peking Duck Two Ways, Sweet and Sour Pork, Beef Tenderloin Black Pepper Steak, Steamed Shrimp, and Fried Crab Salt & Pepper. For dessert, there was Mango Sago and Almond Lychee.
