There are a handful of must-watch, can’t-miss, stay-up-late-for shows in men’s fashion week, and this undoubtedly includes Dior’s. Ever since the arrival of artistic director Kim Jones in 2018, the French luxury fashion house has been on a roll, releasing wonderful new things for men to play with. There are the many iterations of the Dior Saddle bag, the Oblique jackets with their askew closures, the baby Rimowas, and, most recently, the rise of the B23 sneakers.

So what’s next? What are the novel expressions for winter 2021? A little sleuthing—studying the invite sent by the Paris house and hopping on the Instagram account of Jones—reveals clues. In one of Jones’ recent posts, he names drops the artist Peter Doig who created the artwork for the show’s invitation. Doig is responsible for the dreamy painting of, as Jones writes, “Christian Dior in an outfit designed and made by Pierre Cardin for a masked ball.”

Clicking on Doig’s Instagram then reveals another painting. Is it a set? Is it a print? Doig shares that he’s been working with Jones for five months, as well as an old friend, the famous milliner (hat maker) Stephen Jones, with whom he collaborated with for “some of the hats.”

If that leaves you wanting, you won’t have to wait too long. The winter 2021 collection goes live today, Friday, January 22. The show starts at 2 p.m. in Paris, which is around 9 p.m. in Manila. We can’t think of a better way to spend the night.
