Jim Carrey shaved his beard for the Venice Film Festival and ho. lee. shit. The dude looks like a fresh-faced, 20-years-younger version of himself. It wasn't just a shave—this was a freaking metamorphosis.

The 55-year-old actor was photographed at the festival where he's promoting his documentary with a very long title, Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond – The Story of Jim Carrey & Andy Kaufman Featuring a Very Special, Contractually Obligated Mention of Tony Clifton. Carrey's look was right for so many reasons. First, the beard! Or actually, the lack thereof. A beard can be great, sure—and it's not as if Carrey's thick, flowing facial hair was weak. But hot damn there is no arguing how much cleaner of a look the bare face is. Truly inspiring.

And the shave was only made better by the rest of his look. He has a great (and quite voluminous) haircut, cool sunglasses, and an all-black outfit to top every other all-black outfit. His jeans fit perfectly, hitting just the right part of the boot; the graphic T-shirt is laid back, but is the perfect contrast to a sleek racer jacket. Thank you, Jim Carrey, for giving us the fall look we needed.
