Although the name is taken from a Kapampangan word, Masanting Sastreria began in New York City, where Mark Aguas had an internship in finance and accounting. Aguas found it difficult to get a suit that draped well on his Asian build so he made his own. Now, he and wife Carin, along with in-house curators, create a heartfelt and personalized service for bespoke suits. Originating in Singapore, Common Suits arrived in Manila early this year to bring a taste of English tailoring for tropical weather.
