Daniel Craig Just Stealth-Launched an Unreleased Omega Dive Watch at the Paris Olympics
The watch blogosphere is reaching for the smelling salts this morning, as Daniel Craig has been photographed at the Olympics wearing an unreleased Omega Seamaster dive watch, said to be scheduled for release in 2025.
ICYMI, Craig is an Omega ambassador; his James Bond wore Omega Seamasters; Omega sponsors the Olympics, and the company has a history of releasing commemorative watches for the event.

The Omega Dive Watch That Is On a Mission to Save the Seas
The actor has a previous form in stealth-launching as-yet-unobtainable Omega watches.
He debuted a lacquer-dialed white Speedmaster last November while at another Omega event in New York.
The plan was to launch that watch soon after, though internal delays meant it didn’t see the light of day until March this year.
That hold-up only served to enrich its reputation as one of the hottest watches of the year.

Craig’s latest undercover launch is a no-date take on the popular Seamaster, a version Omega fans have been asking for for a while – putting it head-to-head with Rolex’s flagship dive watch, the no-date Submariner.
Elsewhere, the new watch has a black dial, a mesh bracelet, a flat (rather than the more usual domed) crystal, and a ceramic bezel.
Reports elsewhere have speculated on the watch’s similarity to “service watches” issued to US Navy Seals and the Secret Service agents that surrounded Donald Trump during his recent assassination attempt, as reported by a friend of Esquire Watches of Espionage.

Meanwhile, a Reddit thread dedicated to the surprise watch reveal quickly turned to other matters concerning the former 007’s appearance.
“I honestly thought it was Mads Mikkelsen until the last photo”
“He’s so much hotter to me now than he ever was a James Bond, lol”
“Am I the only one not feeling his new hair?”
“I thought his hair was a wig at first”
And, least sensibly of all:
“Really channeling Jarvis Cocker here”
