To Reintroduce Porsche Design in the Philippines, There was a Parade of Porsche 911s
Auto Complex in Quezon City was ground zero for one of the most iconic sportscars of all time—the Porsche 911—to celebrate the reintroduction of the Porsche Design brand to the Philippine market. The iconic sports car came in all sorts of generations; some in classic and in resto-modded set ups, others were newer and more current generation.
Porsche Design Philippines gathered the country’s most passionate Porsche owners, collectors, and enthusiasts for “Treffen Der Ikonen” which is German for “Gathering of Icons.”

Several dozens of Porsche 911s, from early air-cooled classics to the latest turbocharged GT3 marvels and RWB-tuned 911s lined the complex in a grand, staggered entrance. Each car represented a chapter in the 911’s storied history, narrated live as they rolled in, engines humming with decades of evolution.

Among the cars was a Porsche 911 “art car” by celebrated Filipino sculptor Ramon Orlina, who displayed two of his Porsches: a 993 90s classic and an open top 356 Porsche. Orlina himself was present that evening, sharing the same passion that united every guest: admiration for a design that transcends generations. Two other Porsche cars with artwork done by Ronald Ventura were on display.
More than just about cars, the event was a tribute to the man whose vision forever changed automotive design: Ferdinand Alexander “Butzi” Porsche.

In the early 1960s, Butzi, who was the grandson of company founder Ferdinand Porsche, was tasked with designing a successor to the 356. His creation, unveiled in 1963 as the Porsche 911, would eventually redefine the concept of a sports car. With its distinctive fastback silhouette, balanced proportions, and rear-engine configuration, the 911 became not only a masterpiece of engineering but also an icon of minimalist design.
The 911’s timelessness and how its essence has endured for over six decades captures the core of Butzi’s philosophy: form follows function. Every curve, every line served a purpose, yet together they created something breathtaking. It’s this same philosophy that guided Butzi in founding Porsche Design in 1972. He believed that great design shouldn’t be limited to automobiles, it could elevate the objects of everyday life.

From sleek timepieces and eyewear to leather luggage and apparel, Porsche Design extended the DNA of precision engineering into fashion and lifestyle items.
Porsche Design Manila President Hans Yao opened the night by honoring Butzi’s enduring legacy.
“Just like Ferdinand Alexander Porsche who stood the test of time, giving us a brand that is beloved through generations, Porsche Design carries the same principles of innovation, precision, and timeless excellence,” Yao shared before the crowd.
Marketing Head Heinrich Quintong shared the brand’s philosophy of “Engineered Luxury,” where function meets form.

“From the precise lines of the Porsche 911 to the sleek design of our lifestyle accessories, Ferdinand Alexander Porsche’s vision lives through each and every one of us here today,” Quintong said. “His works are not just iconic automotives and fashion pieces—they are symbols of unparalleled imagination and timeless excellence.”
Inside the venue, guests were treated to a full Porsche Design Lifestyle Experience, with curated zones that told the brand’s story through sight, touch, and innovation. The Heritage Gallery traces Butzi Porsche’s design journey from the birth of the 911 to the creation of Porsche Design. The Timepieces & Innovation Lounge showcased its iconic chronographs inspired by motorsport engineering, each reflecting the technical brilliance of the brand.

The Travel & Mobility Showcase featured sleek luggage and leatherware that combine performance, durability, and modern design that are made for those who move with purpose. Lastly, the Lifestyle & Fashion Zone highlighted Porsche Design’s timeless apparel, eyewear, footwear, and accessories that embody its signature aesthetic of understated luxury.
Also on display was a limited edition set of Johnnie Walker Blue Label x Porsche Design bottles, numbered from one to 20 only.

Porsche Design’s latest creations including the Chronotimer Series 1 timepiece and Roadster Hardcase luggage were displayed near the 911s, illustrating the parallel between mechanical precision and lifestyle craftsmanship. Each piece carried the unmistakable Porsche Design DNA: clean lines, intelligent engineering, and refined aesthetics.
Treffen Der Ikonen celebrated not only the 911’s heritage but also the vision of a designer who dared to look beyond the road. Through Porsche Design, Butzi Porsche proved that true design endures, whether it takes the form of a car, a chronograph, or a travel case. It is a legacy built on engineering, precision, and the pursuit of timeless excellence. The legend of the 911 and the spirit of Ferdinand Alexander Porsche continues to inspire the way we live, move, and dream.
