Madonna Plans to Breathe COVID-19 Air After She Tests Positive for Coronavirus Antibodies

Pop singer Madonna says she has tested positive for coronavirus antibodies, suggesting that she may have likely already been infected with COVID-19. 

The sixtysomething pop icon revealed the findings during her IGTV “Quarantine Diary” series on Instagram on Thursday (April 30).

“Took a test the other day, and I found out that I have the antibodies,” she said. “So tomorrow, I’m just going to go for a long drive in the car… and I’m going to breathe in the COVID-19 air. Yep. I hope the sun is shining.”

The American Centers for Disease Control has announced that the presence of COVID-19 antibodies in one’s system is not a foolproof indication that one is immune to the virus.

“A positive test result shows you have antibodies that likely resulted from an infection with SARS-CoV-2, or possibly a related coronavirus," the CDC says. “It’s unclear if those antibodies can provide protection (immunity) against getting infected again. This means that we do not know at this time if antibodies make you immune to the virus.”

It is currrently unknown whether Madonna made good on her promise to “breathe in the COVID-19 air.”
