Local Plays and Musicals Cancel Performances Amid Typhoon Uwan
After battering parts of the Bicol Region, Supertyphoon Uwan (International name: Fung-Wong) is forecasted to move west-northwest at 30 kilometers per hour, with strong to typhoon-force winds extending outwards up to 900 kilometers from the center, according to PAGASA's bulletin on November 9, 2 p.m. Metro Manila is already under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3, with a potential impact of winds to be "moderate to significant threat to life and property." Experts (and just a general experience if you're living in Metro Manila) have warned against possible flooding, considering that the urban center doesn't really have the most efficient flood and hazard control measures.
For the safety of its cast and crew as well as its patrons, these plays and musicals scheduled to have their matinee and gala shows today, November 9, have announced cancelations.

Bar Boys: The Musical
Initially announcing on Saturday night that the Sunday shows would proceed as scheduled, Barefoot Theatre Collaborative updated its bulletin to consider the shift in the weather forecast. As of 8:15 a.m., both the November 9 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. shows of Bar Boys: The Musical are postponed.
Steps for rescheduling are yet to be laid out in detail, but refunding and similar concerns can be forwarded through [email protected].

An announcement made on November 10 indicated that the November 9 shows, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., have been moved to November 30, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively. According to Barefoot, if you haven't requested a refund or rescheduled to another date yet, you can either confirm your transfer to November 30 with the same show time or request a refund before November 14. "Tickets with no refund requests by the deadline will be automatically moved to the November 30 replacement show and treated as new tickets," which means that no-refund and no-exchange policies apply.

Shrek: The Musical

Anino sa Likod ng Buwan
The IdeaFirst Company, at 7:50 a.m., has officially postponed its 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. shows for what's supposed to be Anino sa Likod ng Buwan's closing day. Ticketholders are advised to hold on to their purchase as a new schedule is set to be announced in the next few hours.
Anino sa Likod ng Buwan opened last October 17 at PETA Theater Center, 5 Sunnyside Drive, Quezon City.
Alice in Wonderland
Repertory Philippines, at 11:20 a.m., announced the cancelation of their 3:30 p.m. show. Alice in Wonderland is part of the company's Rep Theater for Young Audiences, which means its patrons are mostly kids, so safety is of utmost priority.

Paano Man ang Pag-ibig
Tanghalang Ateneo announced the cancelation of both its November 9 shows (2 p.m. and 7 p.m.) as early as Saturday night. Affected ticket buyers and guests are told to expect an e-mail for further details and instructions.
Paano Man ang Pag-ibig runs until November 16 at Gonzaga Fine Arts Theater, Ateneo De Manila University. Tickets are available through Helixpay, with prices at P500 (general audience), P400 (LS undergraduate students), and P350 (LS scholars).
