Are we willing to get on a plane just for food? Yes, absolutely. Any restaurateur or food lover worth their salt will tell you that Hong Kong’s F&B scene is worth the international flight.

With everything HK has to offer, it can be overwhelming to figure out where to start. The street food is divine, the small mom-and-pop restaurants are elite, but if you want a comprehensive crash course on all things HK cuisine, start at the top: the Michelin stars and the Asia's Best establishments. Naturally, Hong Kong has countless, so we can turn to famed Filipino restaurateur and chef, Margarita Fores. In her new Metro Channel show with Edu Manzano, Fores takes HK by storm with the help of the Hong Kong Tourism Board. From witnessing the art of dim sum making to the complex creations of high-level Chinese cuisine, Fores gives us a sneak peek at the very best of the HK F&B industry.

“The range of the restaurants in Hong Kong, whether it’s high-level Chinese food or just street food, you can get everything in Hong Kong. If I didn’t want to have to go to Europe, just coming to the city, I would get the same dining experience, whether it’s great Italian food or great French food, or even Scandinavian food. I’m really happy that it’s only an hour and a half away from where I live,” said Fores.

If you’re wondering where to start your HK food crawl, try these Fores-approved restaurants and bars, like Neapolitan cuisine’s Estro, Japanese-Argentinian fusion restaurant Ando, and traditional Eastern China restaurant Ye Shanghai.

HKTB has also lined up two major food events over the next few months for those who want everything that HK has to offer. From August 17 to August 21, Hong Kong will host its Food Expo, which brings together exhibitors from around the world to showcase their culinary skills through cooking demonstrations.
