Cebu Pacific Is Set to Fly From Iloilo to Hong Kong Again
Cebu Pacific is eyeing to become the only airline to operate international flights from Iloilo. Beginning October 27, it is set to relaunch direct flights between the province and Hong Kong.
This will result in a significant development since the travel time of passengers coming from Iloilo will be reduced to less than three hours. That's way faster than the usual 12 hours—including layovers—when booking connecting flights from Manila to Hong Kong. Travelers will likewise be able to save up to 20 percent on round-trip airfare.

“We hope this will make air travel even more affordable and accessible for a wider range of passengers in the Visayas region,” Candice Iyog, chief marketing and customer experience officer of Cebu Pacific, said in a statement.
According to the Gokongwei-led airline, the Iloilo-Hong Kong route will be open to passengers every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday; while return flights will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
The route marks the newest addition to Cebu Pacific's network, which includes 35 domestic and 25 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East. The airline earlier announced that it's also launching direct flights to Osaka, Japan from Cebu in October.
Cebu Pacific, dubbed the largest budget carrier in the Philippines, operates a diversified commercial fleet that includes eight Airbus 330s, 39 Airbus 320s, 21 Airbus 321s, and 15 turboprops. It recently signed with Airbus to purchase as much as 152 Airbus A321 new engine option (Neo) jets. The deal, valued at $24 billion (about P1.4 trillion), is said to be the largest aircraft order in Philippine aviation history. Apart from this, Cebu Pacific is in talks with Ayala Land, Inc. for the potential acquisition of the Zobel-owned real estate firm's AirSwift.
