Eleven-Year-Old 'Little Einstein' Seeks to Achieve Immortality

Eleven-year-old Laurent Simons just earned his bachelor’s degree in Quantum Physics. He finished that in 18 months and is the world’s youngest graduate for the course. Now, the young genius, nicknamed “Little Einstein,” wants to unlock the secret to immortality.

Simons is based in Belgium. He was born to Dutch and Belgian parents.

According to his parents, Simons will study the secrets to immortality, and to do this, he will specialize in a course on Biotechnology. Simons has said that his lifetime goal is immortality, specifically, to create the technology that will prevent humans from dying.

“That means replacing as many parts of the body as possible with artificial organs,” Simons told Dutch TV.

Simons is set to continue his studies in the U.S., U.K. and Israel, where he hopes to make scientific breakthroughs with new research.

In the photo below, Simons is shown giving his first lecture at the University of Antwerp, where he graduated.

But don’t let his brains deceive you. Simons is, by all accounts, still a child. Here is a photo of him which he captions, “Luv Fridays!” in which he’s posing while holding a basketball.

Simons started high school at six years old, and entered university at eight. He initially enrolled at at Eindhoven in the Netherlands but transferred to Antwerp in Belgium after arguments with school authorities over his exam schedules, according to a report by The Age

The youngest person to ever graduate from university was Michael Kearney, who finished Anthropology at the University of Alabama at the age of 10 in 1994.
