The Simpsons x Vans Collection Is A Mind-Bending Sneaker Journey

The brain is a powerful thing. It convinces you to want things you shouldn’t even consider. Take the soon-to-be-released The Simpsons x Vans collection, which features, among its lineup of shoes and clothing, a pair of slides in the style of Homer’s favorite snack, the pink-glazed donut with sprinkles. It looks like this:

Can a grown man with a serious job wear hot pink donut slides, a Lisa Simpson fanny pack, and a tie-dye T-shirt that says, Party Hearty?

But, says Brain, this is Vans, the cool sneaker company that gave the world the checkerboard Slip-Ons, the ones worn by Sean Penn in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and the chunky Old Skool, which you wore to death in high school and still wear today (it’s that tough).

Brain also points out that this features The Simpsons. Who are you to turn your nose up on the first family of animation (sorry, Jetsons), the very ones who taught you the best answers to any question: “D’oh” and “Eat my shorts.”
