All-Black Snoopy MoonSwatch Drops in Time for New Moon
Almost two weeks after Swatch launched the all-white Mission to the MoonPhase - Full Moon, they're now all set to drop the all-black color scheme. It's scheduled to land on April 8. The perfect timing of the all-black chronograph set to arrive in the darkness of the New Moon the night after is not lost on us.
Mission to the MoonPhase - Full Moon is part of Swatch and Omega's Bioceramic MoonSwatch Collection, which is a nod to the iconic Speedmaster Moonwatch—the first watch to be ever worn on the moon. There's one watch for every planet: from Mission to Mercury to Mission to Pluto, despite the latter's demotion to a dwarf planet. Then, there's Mission to the Sun in all its bright golden color glory and the steel gray Mission to the Moon. The collaboration goes further with the launch of the Mission to the MoonPhase collection: the Full Moon and the New Moon, featuring Snoopy—NASA's safety ambassador since the 1960s.

Features of the Black Snoopy MoonSwatchÂ
Much like the all-white model, the all-black New Moon features a Bioceramic case, crown, pushers, and a Velcro strap. The seconds hand, subdial hands, and tachymeter-scaled bezel are in contrasting white with the background in black, making the chronograph both sleek and easy to read.
The face of the watch has all the other features commonly seen on a Bioceramic MoonSwatch: the Omega x Swatch branding, the Speedmaster logo, the MoonSwatch logo, the etched "S" in the center of the glass, the iconic "dot over 90," ad the glow-in-the-dark indexes, hour, and minute hands.
Since Mission to the MoonPhase - Full Moon is inspired by the phases of the moon, there's also a Moon Phase Indicator above the MoonSwatch label. Depending on which day it is in the calendar, the crescent moon also goes around automatically to show whether it is the Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Last Quarter, Waning Crescent, New Moon, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter, and Waxing Gibbous. The lunar cycle has eight phases.
Snoopy can also be found lying on the moon on the moon phase disc, which rotates in the subdial set at 2 o'clock. This part of the chronograph is made even more mysterious with the fact that a hidden quote from the Peanuts comic strip appears when under ultraviolet light: "I can sleep without a night light" in a blue glow. The crescent moon and stars also glow with it.
At the back of the watch, there's the moon phase subdial with Snoopy detail, such as a paw print. The words "MISSION TO THE MOON" in all caps are under the circle. Encircling the edge of the caseback are the inspiring phrases: "DREAM BIG - FLY HIGHER - EXPLORE THE UNIVERSE - REACH FOR THE PLANETS - ENJOY THE MISSION."
Mission to the MoonPhase - New Moon has a case diameter of 42.00 mm, case thickness of 13.75 mm, lug-to-lug distance of 47.30 mm, and a water resistance of three bar.
Swatch Philippines, through their Facebook page, said that the Mission to the MoonPhase - Full Moon will be available in selected Swatch stores worldwide on April 8.
