Panerai’s new Submersible Blu Notte aims to bring together two sides of the company.
The Italian-founded, Swiss-run luxury watchmaker is known both for its technical achievements in dive watches, it created Radiomir, the first substance to give luminosity to watch dials, and its more refined line of formal watches.
Its new launch takes its Blu Notte model, currently available as a £24,000 watch with a gold/copper case and a blue alligator strap, and in a black ceramic version, and makes it part of its Submersible collection. The Submersible Blu Notte is the first 42mm Submersible on a metal bracelet.
It comes with a sun-brushed blue dial and hands, dots and indices augmented with Super-Luminova. Its steel unidirectional bezel is comprised of matching blue ceramic.
There’s a small seconds at 9 o’clock and a date window, and the watch is waterproof to 300m.
The relatively small (for Panerai) case size and the use of one of its slimmest movements help position this watch as a great option for anyone in the market for a high-end dive watch, one that would work as well with a formal suit as a wetsuit.
