Maxus's New MPV Starts at Only P1 Million
Multi Purpose Vehicles (MPVs) have become a practical choice for many consumers in recent years. Not as small as a regular sedan, but not as bulky as SUVs, MPVs serve a practical purpose: transport of as many people as possible. No wonder they’re nicknamed people-carriers.
For years, the biggest carmakers have dominated this automobile segment. Toyota has its Avanza and Innova, Mitsubishi has its Xpander, Honda has the Mobilio, and several other carmakers ensure a crowded segment that can only mean more choices for consumers.
Maxus has a belated dog in this fight, but that doesn’t mean you should count it out. On the contrary, the new G50 might just have come at the exact time for people ready to commit to a new MPV for their family or business.
The Maxus G50 comes in three variants: 1.5 Turbo DCT Pro (P1.088 Million); the 1.5 Turbo DCT Elite (P1.168 Million), and the 1.5 Turbo DCT Premium (P1.288 Million).
Equipped with a turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline engine, the eight-seater offers standard features such as a reverse camera, Park Distance Control, keyless entry, push-start button, Electronic Stabilisation Program, and Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold for all variants.
The Premium and Elite variants comes with a 12-inch infotainment system, 360-degree view camera and leather seats. For the the top-of-the-line Premium variant, expect a panoramic sunroof, mobile wireless charging, LED headlights and power tailgate.
“We have recognized the importance of families since we launched our flagship model, the G10 multi-purpose vehicle in 2019,” Automobile Central Enterprise, Inc. President Felipe Estrella said. “Our other models, the V80 van as well as our pick-up, the T60, match the continuously evolving needs and wants of Filipino families. We likewise appreciate the hard work of micro, small and medium enterprise owners. The reliability, efficiency, power and versatility of our products make them ideal for businesses and even essential, life-saving purposes. The G50 is our latest vehicle that caters, again, to the Filipino family.”
New owners of the G50 will enjoy a warranty coverage of five years or 100,000 kilomteres, as well as 24/7 emergency roadside assistance and on-site servicing for corporate fleet accounts.
