Built to conquer a variety of terrain—deserts, mountains, and city streets—Nissan’s flagship luxury SUV is now expected to deliver more than just brute strength and has been reimagined to meet the demands of the modern driver.

In late March, Nissan unveiled the seventh-generation all-new Nissan Patrol, which blends performance, cutting-edge technology, and refined sophistication with its off-road DNA roots.

A Bolder Look
Next to its predecessor, the new Nissan Patrol looks very much different, with an exterior that’s sharper, sleeker, and more modern. The wider V-motion grille dominates the front, flanked by Double C-shaped LED headlights, giving the Patrol a commanding presence. At the back, a sleek LED light bar spans the rear, further emphasizing its modern aesthetic.
Under the hood, Nissan has retired the previous V8 engine and replaced it with a 3.5L Twin-Turbo V6, delivering 431 PS and 700 Nm of torque. Paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, the engine is not only more powerful but also more fuel-efficient—a significant improvement given the Patrol’s history and reputation of being a gas guzzler.
The new VR-series engine is inspired by Nissan’s legendary Z and GT-R sports cars, which incorporate technologies from Nissan’s motorsports heritage.
A first-class experience inside
Stepping inside will make it abundantly evident that Nissan has gone all-in on luxury. There’s a massive 28.6-inch Monolith Display, split into two 14.3-inch screens, that puts everything from navigation to entertainment right at your fingertips. There’s also a 12-speaker Klipsch Premium Audio System that delivers concert-quality sound on the road (Trust us; we experienced this ourselves during a sneak preview with the Patrol a week before the big launch). Rear passengers, meanwhile, get a dual 12.8-inch display while they chill in the back.
The Patrol now also features Zero Gravity seats for the driver and front passenger, offering 10-way power adjustment, ventilation, and heating. It’s a setup designed for long drives and absolute comfort.
Nissan has also introduced adaptive air suspension with four adjustable levels. Simply put if you need better ground clearance for off-roading, you can raise the vehicle up; but if you want easier entry and exit, the Patrol can lower itself by seven inches at the push of a button.
Safety features
Nissan made sure to incorporate state-of-the-art safety features to the new Nissan Patrol, including:
- ProPILOT technology for smarter, adaptive cruise control
- Intelligent Lane Keep Assist for safer highway driving
- Invisible Hood View, which gives the driver a real-time view of what’s under the front of the vehicle—perfect for navigating tricky off-road terrain or tight parking spaces
- NissanConnect Services, allowing you to access vehicle data, safety alerts, and remote features through your smartphone
